<p>National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir dismissed the resolution passed this afternoon by the UN Security Council calling for a ceasefire in Gaza for the month of Ramadan.</p><p>"Um-Shmum," Ben-Gvir said, using an Israeli phrase of derision for the UN coined by former Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion.</p>

<p>Prime Minister told members of a visiting US delegation that "if the US won't veto the UN decision today for a ceasefire that is unconditional on the release of the hostage, I will cancel the Israeli delegation to Washington."</p><p>Earlier on Monday, the Americans notified Minister Ron Dermer that they intended to pass two independent and unrelated resolutions in the Security Council, one calling for a ceasefire and the other calling for the release of the hostages, both unconditionally.</p>
