A New York Times report uncovered evidence that Hamas cleared out documents and transferred hostages away from the complex ahead of the IDF's raid of Shifa Hospital.

This planned attack came multiple months after an Iraqi national was arrested for lurking outside of the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, shortly after a series of bomb threats.

The idea is to replace Hamas with family groups who have not been as connected to the terror group and to give control over food, water, and other key supplies to groups in Gaza who are not Hamas.
